015   FRANCE-Swedish Polar Expedition 1901 ppc Norway Spitzbergen of Andree
          Expedition Andree Expedition to the North Pole "Ballon Quittant departing, Ile des
          Danois"  S. A. Andrée's Arctic balloon expedition of 1897 was an ill-fated effort to
          reach the North Pole in which all three expedition members perished. S. A. Andrée
         (1854–97),  the first Swedish  balloonist, proposed a voyage by hydrogen balloon 
          from Svalbard. It crashed due to loss of hydrogen and landed. The three men then
          tried to walk to safety but were weak and failed to do so. Card f.w. 5c adh. canc. at
          Nancy. Slight adhesion on edge but very scarce card other wise
